Den jungen Studenten Micky zieht es nach Paris und findet bei dem jungen Impressionisten Goofoir eine Behausung. Micky bekommt eine Stelle im Ingenieursbüro Eiffel. Der ist sichtlich von dessen Plänen für einen Stahlturm angetan. Rasch wird an den Entwürfen für die Weltausstellung 1889 gearbeitet, bis diese auf mysteriöse Weise verschwinden.
