Mickey and Goofy are on leave from the (French) National Police, and decide to spend their vacation in the ancestral residence of Goofy. Gilbert recruits Mickey in a treasure hunt, trying to locate the treasure of the residence's original owner: a 19th-century multidisciplinary scientist. He has left behind riddles which require adequate knowledge of the history of science to answer them.
