All habitants of Duckburg get a prize check for the post office, without the post office knowing. They ask Donald as detective to investigate the case, who only find people with true alibis at first. However, at last he found a picture to solve the case, and find out the crime was committed to avenge the post office for not delivering Christmas letters years ago.
